CHAS – Fundraising for a great Scottish Charity

I think we can all agree it has been an awful year for the world! Everyone has been impacted in some way. Charities are taking a huge hit on their fundraising as they can not do as many events, big runs and dances.

I have been volunteering for CHAS for about 5 years now. They have 2 hospices, Rachel House on the east of Scotland and Robin House on the west. They help children with life shortening conditions and their families. I volunteer at Robin House in the activities team, and while I have not been there this year due to the pandemic, I keep in touch with everyone through the volunteer workplace group. Back in March when the first lock down was upon us, I did yoga classes online for 7 weeks via zoom for donations to CHAS. My wonderful yoga community raised over £700.

I always do a fundraiser of some sort at Christmas for CHAS and it’s usually via my corporate job. This year the corporate job has gone, but the fundraising continues.

I have read the christmas poem ‘Twas the night before Christmas to raise awareness of the charity. This is on Insight Timer Here, it’s free to listen but any donations recieved will go to CHAS.

I am also holding an online yoga class on December 27th at 11am UK time, plenty of time for that Turkey to go down and some relaxing Christmas Yoga. This is a donation class, If you would like to join, I would love to have you, if you can donate here that would be amazing! if you can’t donate, that’s ok just remember to book a slot for the class to get zoom details here.

Merry Christmas Everyone and here is to a Happy and Healthy 2021!
